An impressive résumé
Prior to being named acting president, Marcantano served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Women & Infants since January 2010. He came to Women & Infants from Boston Children’s Hospital where he served as vice president of ambulatory and network services. In this capacity, he was responsible for operations, budgeting, financial performance, business planning, and facility planning for ambulatory services on the hospital’s main campus, as well as nine other network locations and a Community Health Center which recorded 55,000 visits annually.
Before Boston Children’s Hospital, Marcantano was executive dean, senior vice president and chief operating officer of Albany Medical College, affiliated with Albany Medical Center, in New York. He was instrumental in recruiting new researchers, shepherding the renovation of facilities, and transforming traditional academic departments into entrepreneurial centers of excellence.
Marcantano earned a bachelor of science degree in finance from New York University and went on to earn his juris doctor from Albany Law School of Union University. He currently serves as a member of the boards of Meeting Street and the Women & Infants Health Care Alliance.
