According to RIDOH, they “will continue to monitor and review beach water quality regularly to ensure safe bathing throughout the summer. The status of a beach may change on a daily basis.”

For the most up-to-date beach information, RIDOH asks beachgoers to call their beaches telephone line (401-222-2751).

Beach Closures

As GoLocalProv reported, RIDOH recommended the closure of Kent County YMCA Lower and Upper Ponds in Warwick earlier this week due to high bacteria levels.

Prior to that, RIDOH recommended the closure of Sandy Point Beach back in June and Third Beach back in May, all due to high bacteria levels.
