12 Metre World Championships at Fort Adams
The Ida Lewis Yacht Club, the International Twelve Metre Association (ITMA) America’s Fleet and the 12 Metre Yacht Club are gearing up for the largest-ever gathering of historic 12 Metre yachts in the U.S. at the 2019 12 Metre World Championship.
The regatta will host 24 teams from seven countries, and the fleet will include Italian Patrizio Bertelli’s US-12 Nyala, which is the defending 12 Metre World Champion, and five yachts that have successfully defended the America’s Cup: US-16 Columbia (1958), US-17 Weatherly (1962), US-22 Intrepid (1967 & 1970), US-26 Courageous (1974 & 1977) and US-30 Freedom (1980).

The Swingles at the Breakers
The Swingles will be performing at the Breakers as part of the Newport Music Festival.
The seven young singers that make up today’s London-based group are driven by the same innovative spirit that has defined the five-time Grammy® winners since they first made waves in the 1960s. At a time when a cappella music is more popular than ever.
The concert begins at 8 p.m.

Jamestown Arts Center Summer Soiree
The 2019 JAC Soiree exhibition Pulparazzi will explore the art practices of the national group of eight artists that call themselves Pulparazzi.
Their artwork demonstrates the many uses of handmade paper pulp and include: John Babcock (CA), Shannon Brock (NY), Joan Hall (RI), Anne Q McKeown (NJ), Lynn Sures (MD), Michelle Samour (MA), Peter Sowiski (NY), and Beck Whitehead (TX).
The artists met in 2009 at a conference and has subsequently exhibited, conducted workshops and presentations across the United States.
The event goes from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Newport International Polo Series at Newport Polo Grounds
Witness the excitement of one of the fastest ball sports in the world, played at thoroughbred racing speed when Team USA/Newport takes on challengers from around the world and major U.S. Cities in the Newport International Polo Series.
Entering its 28th season, audiences of several thousand attend the weekly contests, one of Newport’s most popular summer attractions, a Gilded Age tradition, open to the public.

"Funny Money" at Newport Playhouse
The Newport Playhouse and Cabaret Restaurant announced the addition of the show “Funny Money” to its summer lineup.
Funny Money features Rick Bagley as Henry Perkins, a mild-mannered CPA who accidentally picks up the wrong briefcase.
What starts out as a simple mix-up soon grows into a whirlwind adventure after Henry discovers the briefcase is full of money.
Faced with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, Henry decides to take the money - and run! He rushes home to grab his wife Jean (played by Sandi NiCastro) and book a flight to Barcelona.
Things get really wild when not one, but two detectives come calling with questions about Henry's whereabouts, a missing briefcase, and a dead body! Henry's attempt to fly the coop lead audiences to laughter beyond legal limits.

Newport Kite Festival at Brenton Point State Park
The spray of colors across the sky along Ocean Drive in July at the annual kite festival is a sight to behold. The air is filled with the sounds of snapping nylon and kite strings as the kites whip their tails in the sky and the ocean breeze washes your face.
There is nothing more or less to this jubilee other than the pure joy of flying a kite.

Newport Dance Festival (formerly Great Friends Dance Festival) is back this July with eight nights of dance, featuring five visiting dance companies from around the globe.

Newport YMCA Carnival at Newport Grand Casino
The carnival will run from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday.

Newport International Tennis Hall of Fame Open
Each year, top ATP World Tour pros head to Newport to compete in the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships, the first stop of the summer swing for pro tennis in the United States.
Contested on the historic grass tennis courts of the International Tennis Hall of Fame, which have hosted all the legends of the sport since 1880, the tournament is the only event played on grass courts outside of Europe, and it offers the only opportunity to see professional men's tennis in the Northeast prior to the US Open.
