The Newport Art Museum is set to welcome three new exhibitions to its galleries this summer, including a collaborative exhibition by a mother and daughter, a solo artist, and one group show.

Love & Friendship at Jane Pickens Theater
Romantic comedy written and directed by Whit Stillman. It is based on Jane Austen's epistolary novel Lady Susan first published in 1871.
Young widow Lady Susan Vernon visits to the estate of her in-laws to wait out the colourful rumours about her dalliances circulating through polite society. Whilst ensconced there, she decides to secure a husband for herself and a future for her eligible but reluctant daughter, Frederica. In doing so she attracts the simultaneous attentions of the young, handsome Reginald DeCourcy, the rich and silly Sir James Martin and the divinely handsome, but married, Lord Manwaring, complicating matters severely.

Newport 10 Miler at Fort Adams
The event will begin outside the east wall of historic Fort Adams. The course will feature Newport’s scenic coastal views around Ocean Drive and will pass several Bellevue Avenue mansions. The finish line will be unique as participants will enter the Fort through the north gate and finish on the parade field.
