Design Week RI is Underway
DESIGN WEEK features over 11 days of events and brings together nationally recognized speakers as well as local Rhode Island design stars through tours, luncheons, talks, showcases, parties and more.
Events include guest speakers such art innovator Janet Echelman, a marathon clambake as well as several luncheons and showcases.

Misquamicut Fall Festival
The Misquamicut Fall Festival is a great time for the entire family. The festival features food, a reptile show, a petting zoo and carnival rides.
Performances will include Grammy nominee Sophie B Hawkins and country star Boone as well as performances from local bands like Princess Anna, queen Elsa and Olaf
Admission to the festival is only $7 and kids that are four or under get in for FREE.

Beautiful - The Carole King Musical at PPAC
BEAUTIFUL features an array of beloved songs written by Gerry Goffin/Carole King and Barry Mann/Cynthia Weil.
BEAUTIFUL opened on Broadway in January 2014 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre(124 West 43 Street), where it has broken every box office record.
And now it is here at PPAC.

In thier 10th season, Providence Ghost Tour has been ranked as one of the top ten ghost tours by tripadvisor.com. Join them and stroll around the darkened streets of the East Side of Providence with a lantern.
This should really put you in the fall/ Halloween spirit.
Prospect Terrace Park is located on Congdon Street in Providence. Tours happen daily.

Ocean State Oyster Festival at Riverwalk Park
The Ocean State Oyster Festival is set to take place on Saturday from 12 - 5 p.m. at the Riverwalk in Providence.
The purchase of a ticket gets you a half dozen oysters from various growers around Rhode Island and a micro brewed beer or glass of wine.
There will be live music and a shucking contest as well as food trucks. Children under 12 are FREE.

Bryant vs. Brown Football at Brown Stadium
The Brown Bears are set to open their season on Saturday, September 19th when they host in-state rival Bryant University. Kick off is set for 12:30 p.m. at Brown Stadium. This is only the second ever meeting between the two schools.
The Bulldogs come in after a week one win over American International while Brown will be playing their first game of the season.

12th Annual Providence Improv Fest at AS220
The improv groups range in variety from sophisticated short-form of the Oxford Imps, to fast-paced, witty hiphop of North Coast and the longer formats of Airwolf, both are from New York City. New this year is Austin's The Black Vault-whose format has been described as "Lovecraft Improv"-or storytelling in the style of one of Providence's favorite literary sons.
A Providence Improv Fest first will be The Raving Jaynes from New York City. They who combine dance and physical improv, as well as basic scenework to create a unique and exciting improv experience. History Under The Influence, from Austin, Texas will be offering an improvised retelling of history through the drunken recollections of its narrator.
Admission for the event is $35

Providence Walk to End Alzheimer's at Roger Williams Park Zoo
The Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's is the largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research in the world.
This years walk will take place at 8 a.m. with registration and the actual 3-mile walk or run will begin at 9 a.m. The event will feature dancers, music, refreshments, kid's games, prizes and more.

Imagination Playground at Providence Children's Museum
Kids invent their own ways to play by stacking and building huge blue foam blocks of all shapes and sizes. Kids will use blocks, wheels, spools, tubes and a variety of loose parts, kids construct castles and forts, invent interesting sculptures and more! Underwritten by Dominion Foundation.
