16th Annual Pawtucket Arts Festival To Host "Slater Park Fall Festival"
The 16th Annual Pawtucket Arts Festival will present the "Slater Park Fall Festival" on the weekend of September 13 and 14 from 11:00am - 5:00pm.
This festival will celebrate the beauty of the park and art and includes activities at the Daggett Farm, Looff Carousel, the Rhode Island Watercolor Society and the historic Daggett House. Over 100 arts & craft vendors are showcased in this juried festival that also features an ‘open air market’ of food trucks, farmers market, craft, exhibitions, music and activities.
On Saturday, at 3:00pm the Main Stage will welcome Spirit Family Reunion, one of NPR Music’s favorite finds from the 2012 Newport Folk Festival.
At 5:30pm the RI Philharmonic “Pops in the Park” will present its last concert of the season. The concert is followed by a fireworks display.
Food truck vendors participating in the festival include Citizen Wing, Gilded Tomato, Flour Girls, Harris Robert’s Kettle Korn, Len’s Hot Dog Haven, Mijos Tacos, Ooh Mommi, Flour Girls, O Crepe, Salad Man & Juice Bar, and Uncle Tony’s Pizza.
On Saturday, there will be a Poetry Slam presented by the City of Pawtucket Cancer Control Task Force. Students from the Pawtucket Elementary Schools will slam an original poem with an anti-tobacco message.
The RI Dance Alliance “Chance to Dance” program will feature SLEEQuE Feet. Scott Jamison will perform magic while Marvelous Marvin creates ‘circus art’ along the street.
An exhibition of paintings in “The Artist Travels Open Juried Show: Watermedia“ can be found at the RI Watercolor Society all weekend long.
On Sunday in the lower level of the RI Watercolor Society, noted carousel author and photographer Erik Pahlke from San Diego, California can be found. Pahlke, whose recently published book, East Coast Carousels, features the 35 historic carousels on the East Coast including the Slater Park Looff carousel and the Looff Carousel at Crescent Park. Hosting this event is Donna Houle from the Blackstone Valley Tourism Council, where she will present a video on the history of SlaterPark and the Looff Carousel. This project was made possible by a grant from the Pawtucket Arts Review panel.
Pawtucket-based artists, Philippe LeJeune will bring “forms of illusion into reality” with his interactive and engaging outdoor installation titled “Magical Confusion”. Artist Brent Bachelder will invite participants to create “Faces of the Festival” and Peace Love Studios will provide art activities at their booth.
There will be ongoing tours in the Daggett House. Other ongoing activities throughout the weekend include "Living Statues" by students from the Beacon Charter High School for the Arts in Woonsocket, face painting, paddleboat rides, the Pawtucket Bookmobile (Sunday), the Looff Carousel and a special “sneak peak” of the popular Haunted Tunnel located at Daggett Farm.

The Wickford Art Association is proud to be the promoter of the 52nd Wickford Art Festival. This juried fine art festival features over 200 fine art artists from New England, the US and beyond. Admission is free for visitors!
Artists and visitors enjoy the outdoor festival set on the streets of historic Wickford Village. Eclectic shops and classic homes line the streets as visitors stroll through the seaside village, meeting the artists and seeking out exceptional artwork to admire and purchase. Fine art mediums include oil, acrylic, mixed media, glass, drawing, etching, sculpture (metal, clay, wood, etc), photography, etchings, modern ink, fiber, and more.
Established in 2007, The Newport Antiques Show is one of the nation’s premier antiques venues presenting a wide selection of important Americana antiques. Over forty of the country’s top dealers present paintings, furniture, folk art, jewelry, and fine and decorative arts. Show Manager Diana H. Bittel, who is a distinguished antiques dealer and annual exhibitor, hand selects each dealer. Anne F. Hamilton of Newport and Philadelphia is the Show Chair; Honorary Chairs include Mrs. Samuel M.V. Since its inception, Pawtucket’s arts festival has created a citywide showcase of visual and performing arts, interactive workshops, music, theatre, and dance performances.
The festival featuresone-of-a kind art exhibits and musical performances.
Musical groups include Rhode Island Philharmonic Pop Orchestra, Duke Robillard Blues Band, Planet Grove, and Blackstone Valley Heritage Series.

East Greenwich will host the fourth annual East Greenwich Art Festival on August 23rd and 24th from 10 am to 5 pm at the new NE Tech campus located on Division Road in East Greenwich. The art festival will feature over 150 contemporary American art and crafts artists along with strolling entertainment including Rhode Island’s Big Nazo. The festival will feature items big and small including jewelry, ceramics, paintings, sculpture, fiber and home accessories.
Admire antiques from more than 50 dealers from across New England and enjoy early buying privileges. The festive event features food, music and, of course, wine! Preview Party tickets include admission to the festival on Saturday. Partial event proceeds benefit Preserve Rhode Island.

The 8th Annual "Art al Fresco", outdoor exhibit of mixed media art of oil paintings, sculpture, pottery, watercolors and more presented by the Bristol Art Museum, featuring local artists. A popular Sunday afternoon event that attract visitors from the east Bay and New England who often dine in the restaurants on Hope Steet and on the harbor.
