Each December 2, the #GivingTuesday movement returns for a new season of giving and supporting those who do so much to assist in important causes in our neighborhoods.

Outreach

“For us, Giving Tuesday is important,” says Marketing/Community Outreach Specialist at Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Ocean State, George Evans Marley. “It reminds Rhode Island that when they are spending during the holiday giving back should be considered as well, it helps us sustain our big and littles and mentorship programs, it gives us a platform to do an annual campaign and reach a broader audience."

"There’s currently a large waitlist of kids looking for mentors," says Marley. "Since our merger in July the waitlist has doubled - the thing we want to stress is that we need male mentors its very easy to become a mentor, we provide a vast array of free activities for adults and kids.”

Whether you decide to donate your time or money to a local cause, remember the spirit of the season and help those who do so much for others in need, and check out #GivingTuesday for more information.
