We're all rushing around with cups of coffee in our cupholders.  Let's slow it down, sip peacefully, and get a glimpse of real Rhode Island.  GoLocalProv's Julie Fenton introduces 5 Cups of Coffee for Northern Rhode Island, near her Woonsocket home.

Sit in the visitors lounge at the North Central Airport and watch the Cessnas and Pipers land and take off against a rising sun.  Bring your home brewed coffee in an old fashioned thermos and rewind the clock to a time when air travel was peaceful and civilized.  300 Jenkes Hill Rd., Smithfield.

Walk along the little known but breathtaking views of the Blackstone Valley Bike Path.  Start at the Blackstone Valley Visitor’s Center where you can buy a Dunkin' Donuts latte on premises. Off 295 North in Lincoln.

Visit Wright’s Dairy Farm and see where milk really comes from.  You may get lucky and spy a calf or two. Breathe in the most wholesome farm-fresh air the state has to offer.  Your coffee and “homegrown” milk and cream can be bought in the bakery.  200 Woonsocket Hill Rd, North Smithfield.

Purchase a Starbucks at Lincoln Mall, grab a chair, and sit on the beach at Lincoln Woods pre-Memorial Day, pre-crowds, even better, pre-dawn.  2 Manchester Print Works Rd., Lincoln. 

Drive through the landmark Coffee and Cream on 146 North and enjoy your cup of joe on your ride up north to Purgatory Chasm.   The chasm is a draw for rock climbers and picnickers running about a quarter mile between granite walls.  You’ll delight in rock formations named The Pulpit, Lovers Leap, and The Corn Crib. 198 Purgatory Rd, Sutton, MA
