A show to benefit Paul Geremia is Sunday at 2PM at One Pelham East in Newport

Tis the season for great music and benefit shows for those in need. This week, we mix up the music on “5 Live Music Musts.”

Paul Geremia Benefit at One Pelham East

A benefit concert is being held Sunday at One Pelham East in Newport to support Rhode Island Blues legend Paul Geremia, who recently suffered a stroke. The Grammy nominated artist, and member of the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame, is known worldwide for his authentic country blues style.  Participating artists include the Bob Kendall Band, Honky Tonk Knights, Abbey Rhode, Michael Troy, Jon Campbell, Otis Reed & Johnny Juxo, Chelley, Bill & Dyl, Another Roadside Attraction, Art Manchester, Tony Medeiros, Joe Potenza and more!  Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. Music runs from 2PM – 10PM. More details here.

Jamfest at Lupo’s

Lupo’s has two big shows coming up this week. Tonight, it’s the Nu England Jamfest with Fabolous, French Montana, and Young Legend. The Rap/Hip-Hop extravaganza begins at 9PM with openers Ron Browz, Moufy, and Lil Fizz.   And on Monday, December 8, check out Seatle based folkies, Head and the Heart, who appear in support of their new album Let’s Be Still, released this summer. NEAC at Fatt Squirrel

Fatt Squirrel is a popular neighborhood style pub in the old Century Lounge in downtown Providence. They provide a variety of music several nights a week featuring local and regional artists.Tonight the New England Artists Coalition will be hosting a Food/Coat drive for Veterans featuring a number of area bands. Performers include Jodi Jolt, Keepher Spudmonkey, Christopher Boardman of Seven Year Plan, Westford Night, Lost Articles, Straw Man Standing, Mike Maven of the Young Pandas, Pom Pom, Doctor Baby and We're Traveled. $10 gets you in - thats less than a buck a band and it all goes to a good cause!

Tallahassee at Lilypads

Lilypads is an intimate South County venue located in the Unitarian Universalist Church in Peacedale. They’ve put together a nice line up of local and national indie artists this year. Tomorrow night, they welcome Boston based roots rockers Tallahassee, with locals Sugar Honey Iced Tea and Dr. Jones and the Shiners opening. Tickets are available for $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Show begins at 8PM.

Mohegan Weekend – Slipknot and Seeger

The biggest area shows this weekend are happening at Mohegan Sun tonight and tomorrow. Tonight, metalheads can get outrageous with Slipknot and tomorrow its Bob Seeger and the Silver Bullet Band providing classics along with some new songs from his summer 2014 release Ride Out.  Tickets are still available for both shows – details can be found here.
