Twelfth Night Celebration, Westerly

Friday-Sunday  Don't miss this incredible winter tradition--a rich musical and dramatic production (featuring a newly penned original script each year) that puts an enthralling and captivating exclamation mark on the end of the holiday season, and prepares us all for the cold months of the New Year. Great for the whole family. The feast features a delicious and hearty meal, dessert, and wassail prepared by Twelfth Night chefs and served in the performance hall. Kids Clothes Swap, Providence

Saturday  A creative event that is a real FREE for all. No money. No barter. No trade. Bring clothes for kids size 5-12, that are clean, folded, and size-sorted. Toys, books, puzzles also welcome. Then? Take what you want! Bring boxes and bags to help out, and know that anything left over will be donated! 12 noon-2:30pm, Rochambeau Library community room in the basement, 708 Hope St, Providence. Winter Big Day Bird Count, Smithfield

Saturday  How many species can we find? This popular program has become a Rhode Island tradition. Set out with Audubon and cover many of the state's winter hot spots during this day-long van trip in search of our feathered winter residents. Barrow's Goldeneye, Eurasian Wigeon, Short-eared Owl and Snow Bunting are among the birds we hope to find. Go Botany! Talk on High-Tech Tool for Anyone Who Loves Plants, Providence

Saturday  Imagine being able to identify plants in the field using an innovative set of keys on your iPad or smartphone. Elizabeth Farnsworth, New England Wild Flower Society's Senior Research Ecologist, will discuss their ambitious four-year project to develop the definitive on-line Flora of New England. Whether you're a teacher, a gardener, or just generally fascinated with plants, GO BOTANY is a great resource for you. 2-3:30pm, free and open to the public. Glass Exhibition, Newport

Friday-Sunday  There are treasures to be found at Spring Bull Gallery’s new show, “Glass Exhibition", where area artists are asked to use their artistic vision to explore the complexity of glass. Show includes works that are painted or produced on paper, canvas, sculpted, stained, blown or fused. The exhibit runs January 5, 2013 – January 31, 2013.
