Bake on the Beach, Middletown

Saturday  Bring the whole family and enjoy a perfect summer night down on the beach for an authentic clambake. There will be live music, activities for the kids and good food. This year’s menu includes lobster, barbeque chicken, mussels, clams, and much more. This evening by the water is sure to be a highlight of your summer! 5pm. 585 Third Beach Road. Colombian Independence Day Parade and Festival, Pawtucket

Sunday  Did you miss out on all the 4th of July parades? Don’t worry because this Sunday the Colombian independence Day Parade and Festival is coming to Pawtucket. The festival will have a range of traditional Colombian performances including trovas, letanias, stand-up comedy, and folkloric dances. Admission to the event is free and a variety of authentic food and drinks are available for purchase. 10am-7pm. Slater Mill, 67 Roosevelt Avenue. Admission: Free. For more information, click here.

Circus Smirkus, Richmond

Friday-Saturday  Make sure you catch the spectacular performance by Circus Smirkus this weekend! Circus Smirkus is a non-profit, award winning international youth circus that performs all over New England. This year’s performance will have a “Wizard of Oz” theme, which is perfect for all ages. This highly talented, acrobatic show is not something you want to miss out on! 1 and 6 pm. Washington County Fairgrounds, Richmond Townhouse Rd. Adult: $19, Child: $17. Newport Blues and BBQ Festival, Newport

Saturday  If you’re a fan of the Blues then head down to Newport for the Blues and BBQ Festival. There will be good music, beer, and a BBQ all day long. This years line-up includes James Cotton Blues Band, Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, Matt “Guitar” Murphy with Rick Russell & the Cadillac Horns, Ronnie Earl & the Broadcasters, and Quinn Sullivan. Many of Rhode Island’s best food venders will be there as well, including Eddie’s BBQ and Central Falls Provision. 12 pm-10pm. Newport Yachting Center, 4 Commercial Wharf. Black Ships Festival, Newport

Friday-Sunday  Don’t miss out on all the fun that is going down at the Black Ships Festival in Newport. The festival is in honor of Commodore Matthew C. Perry, USN, of Newport, who negotiated the first treaty between Japan and the United States. There will be demonstrations and workshops including origami, sushi-making, martial arts, Taiko drumming, and traditional Japanese tea ceremony. 6:30pm. Marble House, 28 Pelham Street.
