Artist/Rebel/Dandy: Men of Fashion Exhibit at RISD, Providence
Sunday Come to the RISD Museum of Art to experience the eclectic exhibit of Artist/Rebel/Dandy, a display illustrating the style's subtle sophistication and preeminent elegance. This groundbreaking exhibit celebrates the variety of ways in which the dandy's personality has been seared into the artistic consciousness of two centuries and also investigating where the dandy resides today. The skillful workmanship and particular arrangement of tailors or designer expressing the dandy style is featured alongside representations of the personalities who wore these garments through portraits, caricatures, fashion plates, fashion photography, and media representations. Representations of dandies including George IV, Oscar Wilde and Lord Byron are rooted in the nature of the clothing itself. 224 Benefit Street Providence (401)-454-6500.
