Shrek the Musical at PPAC

Friday-Sunday   He's everyone's favorite green monster, and he's live on stage in Providence all weekend in the Broadway show based on the popular Pixar films. It's part romance, part twisted fairy tale, and irreverent fun for all ages. Matinees and evening shows on Saturday and Sunday, evening shows on Friday. $40-$67. Northeast Motorcycle Expo in Providence

Saturday-Sunday  Need a little mayhem in your life this weekend? Look no further than the RI Convention Center, which will fill up with two-wheel madness. Beyond your favorite brands, dealers, and merch, look for the "Fastest Woman on Wheels" Jodi Perewitz to be in the house. Bring your own bike to Cycle Source Magazine's custom bike show. Little Women in Newport

Friday-Sunday  What with Louisa May Alcott's big celebration this year, this is a perfect opportunity to see a dramatization of her beloved novel especially for kids. Newport Children's Theatre presents its version at Rogers High

School. Opening night on Friday, 7pm. Matinee Saturday 1pm and evening performance 7pm, final performance Sunday 4pm. Rogers High School, 15 Wickham Rd, Newport. Tickets $10 adults, $6 kids under 12, $8 seniors.

24-Hour Play Festival in South Kingstown

Saturday  You thought an episode of 24 was intense… In South Kingstown this weekend, a team of writers, directors and actors gather together to write, rehearse and present original short plays all in the span of less than 24 hours. Sunday  If you're getting ready to say "I do" (or know someone who is), you can't get better than South County. Check out the  5th Annual South County Bridal Show this weekend for a sample.
