6th Annual Waterfront Reggae Festival Set for August 8

The 6th Annual Waterfront Reggae Festival is set to take place on Saturday, August 8th from noon to 10 p.m., rain or shine, at India Point Park in Providence.

General admission tickets for the event are $40 in advance and $50 the day of the festival. Kids under 12 are free with a paying adult.

The festival will feature ten hours of music from six bands headlined Grammy award winning Reggae band, Steel Pulse. Other bands will include Third World, Yellowman, Mighty Mystic, High Hopes Band, and The Copacetics.

“We are thrilled this reggae festival, now in its sixth year, has found a new waterfront home in Providence. With Steel Pulse, Third World and Yellowman, we are featuring some of the biggest influencers of reggae-based music over the last 40 years," said Michele Maker Palmieri, President and CEO of Waterfront Productions.

Along with the music, the Festival will feature a Reggae Pit with authentic Jamaican food options that include jerk chicken, meat pies, curry goat and snapper fish. There will be multiple bars that offer Red Stripe as well as other cold drinks and festive island cocktails.
