People lined up for hours to have their voice heard by the two on site judges.

“My feet really hurt, we got here around 5:30 this morning,” said Valerie, 15, a resident from Beverly, Massachusetts who had waited until 11:30 to finally sing. Valerie remains optimistic about her singing future saying “This is the last season, so there won’t be a next time for this, but I’ll try the Voice maybe next year”.

Many local residents showed up to spectate the talent shown. The auditions were held outside, next to the signature American Idol bus.

Another 15-year-old contestant, Nekhebet, was asked about the audition experience, “It’s really cool to just try it out. Besides the waiting in line, I think it is really fun."

The final season of American Idol will premiere January of 2016.
