Blackstone Valley Tourism's Explorer Set to Begin Summer Tours

The Blackstone Valley Tourism Council announced that its educational boat, the Explorer is set to begin tours of the Providence Harbor and Seekonk River this summer.

The tours will begin on Sunday, July 7 at Al’s Waterfront Restaurant in East Providence.

Tours will be offered every Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. through Sunday, September 1, 2019.

The Tours

The Explorer will tour the Providence Harbor at the entrance of the Providence River.

It will pass through the Fox Point Hurricane Barrier with guests being able to see the Providence skyline.

The boat will travel up the Seekonk River and pass under the Washington Bridge.

Going toward Pawtucket, the Explorer passes by the Crook Point Bascule Bridge.

Summer/Fall 2019 Explorer dock schedule:

July 7 to Sept. 1: Al’s Waterfront Restaurant, 28 Water St., East Providence, RI

Sept. 15 to Oct. 20: Cold Spring Park, 101 Katherine Rd., Woonsocket, RI
