College Hill’s high ranking is credited largely to the iconic buildings that make up the neighborhood, like the Providence Art Club and the First Baptist Church in America.
In addition to these historic landmarks, Thrillist says the blend of period architecture – the 18th century State House, the 19th century Providence Public Library, and the modern Granoff Center for Creative Arts at Brown – gives College Hill a unique charm.
Providence wasn’t the only New England city to top the list. Beacon Hill in Boston, MA came in at number 1.
According to Thrillist, the top ten most beautiful neighborhoods in America are:
10. Capitol Hill - Denver, CO
9. Victorian Village - Columbus, OH
8. Savannah Historic District - Savannah, GA
7. Hyde Park - Chicago, IL
6. Sea Cliff - San Francisco, CA
5. Garden District - New Orleans, LA
4. College Hill - Providence, RI
3. Bungalow Heaven - Pasadena, CA
2. Central Park West Historic District - New York, NY
