Don't Miss: An Evening With Authors Oct. 3

Readers rejoice when Reading With Robin host Robin Kall brings her favorite authors to town, and this year's lineup at An Evening With Authors is no exception.

Bestselling authors Elizabeth Berg, Amanda Eyre Ward, and Chris Bohjalian will headline this year's event on Wednesday, October 3, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Warwick.

Kall always puts on a sold-out show, making the evening with three popular authors feel like a dinner out with the girls. You'll hear inside stories, gain literary insights, and have the opportunity to buy some books and get them signed. Dessert and coffee just sweeten the already sweet deal, with tickets being only $25 (and proceeds benefitng the Love, Carol Foundation, which supports breast cancer research).

Elizabeth Berg

Elizabeth Berg has been on the New York Times Bestseller list multiple times. Her most recent book, Once Upon a Time, There Was You, was published by Random House in 2011. Durable Goods and Joy School were both selected as one of the American Library Association's Best Books of the Year. Talk Before Sleep was shortlisted for the Abby (American Bookseller’s Book of the Year). Open House was an Oprah’s Book Club Selection. In 1997, Elizabeth won the New England Booksellers Award for her body of work. She was made a “literary light” by the Boston Public Library, has been honored by the Chicago Public Library, and was

given the AMC Cancer Research Center’s Illuminator Award for shedding light on breast cancer resulting in increased public awareness and concern. She will be heading straight to Italy after this appearance to run her writing and cooking workshop in Positano, Italy.

Amanda Eyre Ward

Ward's latest novel, Close Your Eyes, published in July, 2011, received a four-star review in People Magazine, won the Elle Lettres Readers' Prize for September, was named in Kirkus' Best Books of 2011, and won the Elle Magazine Fiction Book of the Year. Her first novel, Sleep Toward Heaven won the Violet Crown Book Award and was optioned for film by Sandra Bullock and Fox Searchlight.  Her second novel, How to Be Lost, was published in 2004. How to Be Lost was selected as a Target Bookmarked pick, and has been published in fifteen countries.

Chris Bohjalian

Chris Bohjalian is the author of fifteen books, including the other New York Times bestsellers, The Night Strangers, Secrets of Eden, Skeletons at the Feast, The Double Bind, Before Your Know Kindness, and Midwives. Midwives was a number one New York Times bestseller, a selection of Oprah's Book Club, a Publisher's Weekly "Best Book," and a New England Booksellers Association Discovery pick. Bohjalian has called his latest novel, The Sandcastle Girls, the most important book he will ever write.  Published in July, this story of the Armenian Genocide debuted at #7 on the New York Times bestseller list, and appeared as well on the Publishers’ Weekly, USA Today, and national Independent Bookstore bestseller lists. The Sandcastle Girls was also an Oprah.com Book of the Week. Chris's awards include the New England Society Book Award in 2012 (for The Night Strangers), the New England Book Award in 2002, and the Anahid Literary Award in 2000.
