If all 1,500 bulbs find a home they will save a total of 675,000 pounds of carbon over the course of their life, which is the rough equivalent of taking 336 cars off the road for a year. Not to mention the new bulbs will also save their owners at total of $60,000 in energy costs.

“It’s a great opportunity for people to get incandescent bulbs out of their fixtures and off their closet shelves and get a chance to save money and the environment,” said Matthew Martinelli, executive director of Lights Out, Green In.

Their programs include getting businesses to turn their lights off between 11am and 1pm, and distributing energy-efficient light bulbs to low-income households.
The table will be located at the Wintertime Farmer's Market, Hope Artiste Village, 1005 Main St, Pawtucket.
