The mural was created in partnership with The Avenue Concept (TAC), Rhode Island’s leading public art organization.

TAC is rotating the set of two murals at the Weybosset facade, located at the old National Bank at 35 Weybosset Street.

The new murals were painted as part of the Weybosset Facade Residency at TAC, an annual residency since 2016 supported by Paolino Properties.

The artists worked in the brutal July heat.

“This is a unique opportunity for local artists to explore and expand their creativity within the realm of public art in Providence. The Local Artist in Residence (LAIR) obtains access to materials and a public space to push themselves creatively, create accessible public art and engage our community,” said TAC.

This year’s LAIRs are Perez and Marjolin. Painting of the new murals took place throughout July.

"For the first time in the history of the residency, the artists will be able to paint the full surface of the window areas due to structural improvements made possible by Paolino Properties, creating a more expansive and opportune canvas," said TAC.
