You can talk to the farmer, and you’re supporting local business,” says Frank Martinelli of PV Farm Stand about the benefits of buying locally sourced food. “Local farms currently feed 1% of the population in Rhode Island right now, and we are trying to get it up to 2% - but we will need more support.”
