Friday’s LIVE: RI Doctor Janice Santos on Helping Puerto Rico’s Medical Crisis

It’s been four weeks since a Category 4 hurricane devastated Puerto Rico. Dr. Janice Santos, an assistant professor of surgery and a physician with Brown University Urology, is raising money to help provide relief.

Dr. Santos joins GoLocal LIVE on Friday to talk about the medical crisis in Puerto Rico, what the biggest challenges are and how people are coming together to help.

We’ll also hear from Sheila McGlown, a 6-year Stage IV breast cancer survivor. McGlown will talk about her participating in the #ThisIsMBC Serenity Project that used art to empower people with Metastatic Breast Cancer to share their experiences and educate others about the disease.

Cynthia Muhlbach the director of the Adams Library in Central Falls, will join LIVE to talk about the importance of the library in Central Falls community. In 2011, volunteers stepped in to fill the void after a financial crisis closed the library, Muhlbach will talk about what the process has been like and future plans for programming.

At the 4:00 PM hour, News Editor Kate Nagle and GoLocal CEO Josh Fenton will discuss the second half of GoLocal's Benchmark Poll.

Providence College student Conor Holway will talk about his recent short film “The Adventures of Adderall Boy” and give insight on a new millennial superhero.
