Gov't Mule at Xfinity Center
A trio of rock bands took the stage at the Xfinity Center on Saturday, featuring Gov’t Mule, The Avett Brothers, and The Magpie Salute. A night of rock and roll, ranging from hard rock, to blues rock, to southern rock, to folk rock ensued.

The evening opened with The Magpie Salute, a group of former members of the Black Crowes. Led by Rich Robinson, the band also includes for Crowe members Marc Ford and Sven Pipien. They played a tight set, proving they still can jam with the best of them.

Second on the list was The Avett Brothers, the folk-rock favorite hailing from Concord, North Carolina. Brothers Scott and Seth Avett led a sextet for an enjoyable set of some great roots rock.

The highlight of the evening came when Gov’t Mule took the stage, with frontman Warren Haynes taking charge. Haynes, the former guitarist for The Allman Brothers Band, was solid in delivering the solid guitar riffs the crowd came to hear. The Mule also put on an unbelievable light show, while playing “The Dark Side of the Mule,” their incredible rendition of Pink Floyd classics.

All three bands were on the mark for this solid evening of rock.

GoLocalProv was there to capture the show.
