School is almost out and if you are still thinking about sending your child to summer camp for a week or more, there are some great creative summer camps across the state. Day camps in Rhode Island offer a wide variety of activities for children and there are many specialty camps that might just spark the interest of your child and turn the summer into a learning adventure.
From camps that focus on the arts to those that specialize in sports, video game design or nature, there is something for every interest. Camps run for just one week or for the whole summer. Here are some creative ideas for summer camps if you're still trying to find a great camp this summer.
Audubon Society of Rhode Island Summer Camp

Rhode Island School of Design Young Artists Vacation Camp

Schedules and times vary for children ranging in age from 7 to 17. Most programs run from approximately 9 am - 4 pm. Prices for the camps vary. Learn more and register online here or call 454-6200.
Roger Williams Park Zoo Camp

Rhode Island College Summer Sports Camps

Choose from camps that focus on baseball/softball, tennis, gymnastics, basketball and lacrosse for children ages 8 -16. The program runs from 8:30 am-12:30 pm and there is an extended day camp available that includes swimming and other sports-related activities. Computer Camp at Brown University
If you have a computer whiz in the house, the iD Tech Camps summer computer camps held at Brown are a perfect solution. There are camps for children ages 7 - 17, designed for beginner to advanced learners. The day camps average six students per instructor for customized instruction delivered by highly trained adult-only staff. What camps are there to choose from? Video game design; Web and Graphic Design; Video Editing and Photography; Programming and Robotics; and 3D Modeling. Sound cool?
Day camps run from 9 am-5 pm and until 3:30 pm on Friday. The camp is $779 per week and there is a discount if a child attends for more than one week. Camp weeks are almost all reserved already, so register online as soon as possible here.
