Hasbro Donates 25,000 Toys To RI Families In Need

“Team Hasbro” volunteers prepared the toys and games for distribution based on lists provided by each agency location statewide. Through its Team Hasbro volunteer program, Hasbro gives its employees four hours of paid time off each month to volunteer with child-focused programs and organizations. This major holiday initiative took place in Woonsocket at RICCA’s warehouse. It is one of Hasbro’s many holiday giving programs taking place around the country, and an example of why Hasbro was recently recognized by The Civic 50 survey as one of the country’s 10 most community-minded companies.
Hasbro’s donation this year of toys and games to underserved families in Rhode Island – world headquarters for the branded play company – is a continuation of the Company’s long tradition of helping families in need through its Gift of Play product donation program. In 2011 alone, Hasbro donated more than 400,000 toys and games during the holidays to children in need worldwide. Hasbro expects to reach if not exceed that charitable amount by year’s end.
