How Does RI Rank For Dads?

Rhode Island ranks 13th for working dads, according to a recent study done by WalletHub. While being ranked 28th for economic and social well-being, they are ranked 5th in health and 4th in work-life balance.

Minnesota tops the chart as number 1 with a steady balance of rankings. Mississippi wraps up the chart with the lowest ranking. 

Male parenting has changed over the years and the traditional 1960's definition of fatherhood is long gone. Today, 60 percent of family households depend on two incomes.

Fatherhood remains a very tough job regardless of the changing priorities of the modern dad, and providing for the family is a central role. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 93 percent of dads with children under 18 were employed in 2014.

The Study

Working dads across all 50 states and the District of Columbia were analyzed on their work-life balance, health-conditions, financial well-being, and child-rearing environments. The results composed the rankings of each state and the District of Columbia.
