Junior Achievement RI Announces Profile in Excellence Honorees

One of RI's finest organizations will take a moment to recognize four leaders and corporate partners who've demonstrated the highest commitment to the mission of inspiring youth.

On June 7, Junior Achievement (JA) of Rhode Island will bestow the annual Morris J.W. Gaebe Profile in Excellence Award, its highest honor, at a luncheon at the Renaissance Providence Hotel. Named after Morris J.W. Gaebe, Chancellor Emeritus of Johnson & Wales University, this award recognizes leaders who demonstrate excellence in the Rhode Island community. These leaders and corporate partners have demonstrated courageous thinking and actions, vision and innovation, inspiring leadership and community mindedness. Additionally, two of the recipients are JA alum and experienced the JA program in high school.

The 2011 Morris J.W. Gaebe Profile in Excellence honorees are: Angelo DePeri, General Manager, Renaissance Providence Hotel (JA Alum); Deborah A. Gist, Commissioner, Rhode Island Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (JA Alum); MetLife/MetLife Foundation; and Irving Schneider, Ph.D., President – Providence Campus, Johnson & Wales University.
