MUSIC: Tapestries Ring In The Holidays at Dusk

Pixels featuring Adam Souza on keyboards, Meghan Cantwell on drums and Andy Davis on vocals and guitar brought their rhythmic indie art rock to the forefront and they absolutely delivered. "Je Ne Sais Quoi", a rendition of the Christmas classic "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree", "Leave Today", "She Loves You American", a cover of Lou Reed's "Satellite Of Love" and "What Lovers Do" had the audience captivated right from the start, a ground-breaking style of rock & roll that you couldn't take your eyes off of. Pixels will be playing on New Year's Eve at The News Cafe, a great way to start off the new year with music that will blow you away.
Former Famous Winters bassist along with being the former central nucleus of Formal Action and Sun Gun, Matt DeCosta and his innovative musical project Motion & The Modern Day took the stage by storm with his velvety soulful voice and groovy guitar. "Hi Yellow Moon" and "Heat Seeking Missle" highlighted a set featuring his brother Mike DeCosta from Tapestries on drums that put the crowd in a trance. Matt will be performing with Pixels and a bunch of spectacular acts at The New Cafe in Pawtucket on New Year's Eve as well, just another reason why you should make an appearance.
Last up were Tapestries to finish off the night featuring Seamus Sullivan on drums, Mark Mennucci on guitar and Mike DeCosta on vocals to go along with his ruby red guitar promised an otherworldly rock & roll experience for everyone in attendance. "Road Tripping", "Abominable", "Dreamy" and a cover of Neil Young's "Helpless" were part of an abbreviated performance due to time constraints, but that didn't mean that people weren't enjoying the beautiful and singing every word. Tapestries will also be performing at The News Cafe in Pawtucket on New Year's Eve, what more could you ask for to ring in 2013 with a bang? I find it impossible to not have a good time at Dusk, log on to duskprovidence.com to all you need to know about what's going on at the coolest new place in Providence to see a show.
