New “Gilded” Age Hotel coming to Newport
Lark Hotels has announced the opening of a new theme hotel in Newport in time for the tourist season. "Gilded" is “a cheeky and modern twist on the over-the-top era that brought Vanderbilt and Carnegie to this seaside town. Imagine for a moment a fusion between 2015’s amenities and Gilded Age bejeweled decadence and meet Gilded.” The boutique hotel will feature 13 rooms and 4 suites.
“We had a lot of fun capturing the essence of this opulent time period and reimagining it for the modern day traveler,” Reider said. “I love rich jewel tones and luxurious fabrics, and Gilded was tailor made for them.”
Guests can take advantage of the billiards room, complete with a black velvet and white lacquer pool table, or take in the secluded courtyard with a croquet practice court.
To celebrate its grand opening, Gilded will be offering a Grand Opening Special.
Guests who stay 2 nights in the first 20 days of May will receive 20% off their room rate, 2 tickets to a tour of The Breakers, and a chilled bottle of prosecco upon arrival.

Constructed in 1890, Wyndham Estate is a 2 1/2 story ashlar stone Baronial home designed by architect William Ralph Emerson, cousin of Ralph Waldo Emerson.
History
Wyndham Estate celebrates its 125th anniversary next year. The mansion was designed and built for its original owner, Rose Anne Grosvenor, a philanthropist from Providence.
