Providence College
The good news for Providence College was a #11 ranking for Best College Radio Station. The bad news: #7 for Lots of Beer (although students may like this more than parents). PC came in at #9 for Strained Town-Gown Relations and #11 for LGBT Unfriendly. These are issues PC struggled with last year--in fact, PC has a worse LGBT Unfriendly ranking than last year (#18).
University of Rhode Island
Not much good news for Rhody. Apathy continues to plague the school that ranked #13 in the "Election? What Election?" category. URI also took dubious honors for teaching dissatisfaction, with #13 in Professors Got Lowest Marks. The state public university joined PC in being LGBT Unfriendly, ranking #14. Finally, URI also was ranked #20 for "Dorms Like Dungeons."
Other RI Colleges
Bryant University was considered by Princeton Review, but did not make any lists. The rest of RI's colleges--Salve Regina, RIC, RISD, Roger Williams, and Johnson and Wales--were not considered.
Princeton Review bases these categories, 62 in all, on information from more than 122,000 students. To read more about the 2012 rankings, go here.
