NEW: St. Patrick's Day Block Party at St. Charles Borromeo Church Canceled

St. Patrick’s Day Block Party at St. Charles Borromeo Church canceled.
The St. Patrick’s Day Block Party at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Woonsocket has been canceled due to the outbreak of coronavirus.

The event was originally scheduled to be held on Monday evening, March 16 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

As GoLocalProv reported, there have been five confirmed cases of coronavirus in Rhode Island as of Thursday morning.

The Block Party

The purpose of the block party was to reflect on the contributions of St. Charles Borromeo Church to the local community.

Prior to the cancelation, the block party was set to feature multiple stages for entertainment, including: Irish Step Dancers, a Drum and Fife Corp, and liturgical and Irish music.

Free refreshments, Irish stew and soda bread for the adults, and hot dogs for the children as well as balloons and St. Patrick's Day mementos for the children are also planned.
