New Tonight Show Debuts on Set Created by Trinity Rep's Eugene Lee

More than 40 years after departing to the West Coast, NBC's The Tonight Show returned to New York Monday with a new host, and a new set.

While most will focus their attention on the new location and new host Jimmy Fallon, Rhode Islanders should take particular interest in the show's backdrop. The new set features a wood-carved Manhattan skyline, and was designed by Providence resident Eugene Lee.

Fallon went as far as to thank Lee for his great work on the beautiful set in the show's opening comments.
