Newport Art Museum to Host "Young Artist Talk & Community Conversation" Focused on LGBTQ+ Youth

Morris and Perry-Wood are photographers featured in the current exhibition “Forever Young: Representations of Childhood and Adolescence” whose work illuminates and celebrates children and teens who identify as LGBTQ+.
Following a viewing of the exhibition, the Museum and Newport Health Equity Zone will facilitate a conversation with trans youth and guests from the RI Department of Health, RI Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, LGBTQ+ Protection Project at RI Legal Services, Youth Pride RI, PFLAG, and others who have made it a priority to support the LGBTQ+ community.

The focus of the evening -- and discussion -- is how communities can create safe spaces for young people as they explore their feelings related to gender identity and sexual orientation, and how those spaces can support inclusivity and encourage mutual respect.
6:00 pm: Visit the Forever Young Exhibition
6:30 pm: Artist Talk followed by Community Conversation
This is a free event, but seating is limited. Reservations recommended.
