Organize + Energize: 7 Ways To Organize Your Makeup

Follow these 7 simple steps to get organized.
1. Don’t try to organize everything at once.
Start with your makeup first, then move onto brushes, then toiletries, etc. Breaking the project down into sections will make it less overwhelming for you.

Organizing for any more than 3 hours will leave you tired, stressed, anxious, and overwhelmed.
3. Take EVERYTHING out of the area you are organizing.
You won’t know what you have if you just shift items around.
4. Start itemizing and categorizing.
Put all your brushes together. Itemize your blushes, eye shadows, lipsticks, and cleansers. Keep everything in categories on a table.
5. Throw out any old makeup, brushes, or accessories.
It’s time to let go of old makeup and old brushes. Also check for expiration dates.
6. Look at what you have and now purchase containers to match what you have.
Measure your drawers and try to maximize and make the most of your space. The biggest mistake people make is purchasing containers before they actually know what they have. Now that you can see everything you own, make a list of containers you would like to purchase that will best fit your products. Once you have purchased your containers and have put the makeup, brushes, and toiletries in them, sit back and know you will be able to find everything quickly and won't waste time searching for items.
7. Re-visit and re-organize your make-up and cleansers every 6 months.
A great reminder would be to do it when the seasons change. You will save time because everything will be at your fingertips. You will know where everything is and can grab without rifling through a drawer. You will save money because you won’t be purchasing duplicate items. Everything will be categorized and itemized so you will know exactly what you own. Get organized and reap the benefits!
