PeaceLove Studios Launches First Fundraiser

PeaceLove Foundation has announced its first annual fundraising evening, supporting its innovative programming of using arts to enhance the lives of Rhode Islanders with mental illness.

Get Your PeaceLove On!, on Tuesday May 17 from 7-10pm, will feature not only live music plus food and drink, but the opportunity to view and purchase some of the artwork that has distinguished the fledgling organization's work.

The organization will also recognize a group of supporters who've been crucial in the early success and growth:
  • Jim DeMattei
  • Larry Goldstein
  • Lyn Mills and Paul Gorman
  • Dr. Steven A. Rasmussen, MD
  • CVS Caremark

Formal attire optional

Guests are encouraged to dress casually for the event and enjoy some live Paint4Peace art creation while partying. The founding program of PeaceLove, Paint4Peace teaches painting as a way to inspire, motivate, build self-confidence, and deliver a message of hope through artistic expression. This immersive arts program has pioneered in communities affected by mental illness, as well as recovery programs, hospitals, veterans' organizations, and boys and girls clubs.

In 2010, PeaceLove provided these workshops to more than 2,200 individuals in Rhode Island and surrounding communities.
