Providence Children's Film Fest Promises "More Than Just Movies"

The Providence Children's Film Festival is returning to town for its 5th annual Festival celebration. Screenings will run for eight days, from February 13th to the 23rd, and will feature a selection of recently released independent films from around the world for audiences 3-18 years old. The selection includes both short and feature films. The screenings will take place at a series of different locations, including the RISD Museum and Auditorium as well as the Cable Car Cinema, that will feature full days of programming running from morning to late afternoon or evening.

In addition to the movies, this year's schedule features a number of programs meant to compliment the films. A series of Film Talks will bring directors, screenwriters, actors and critics directly into conversation with audiences. The Talks are meant to help facilitate a discussion about the films, and filmmaking generally, that extends even beyond the theater.

In addition to the post-film discussions, the Festival will premiere a filmmaking workshop to provide hands-on experience to kids ages 6 to 14.
