RISD Museum to Host Free Family Fun Day

The RISD Museum is set to host a Sunday full of family fun. 

“Families Shimmer and Shine” will take place on Sunday, November 3 starting at 11 a.m. 

The event is free.

Families Shimmer and Shine 

The event is inspired by the exhibition “Designing Brilliance: Gorham Silver 1850-1970.” 

Families can play “unicorn spoon hobby horse racing” in the stop motion animation photo booth, create table settings inspired by Gorham Manufacturing, and explore the galleries with a self-guided sheet about casted elements in the exhibition. 

The events are as follows: 

A Day at the Races
11am - 4pm
Enjoy the stop motion animation photo booth designed by artist Rachel Blumberg.

 

Dinner Party Designs
11am - 4pm
Create table settings inspired by Gorham Manufacturing.

 

Casting Creatures
11am - 4pm

Explore the galleries with a self-guided sheet about casted elements in the exhibition Gorham Silver: Designing Brilliance 1850-1970

Contribute to a site-specific installation by artist Brett Day Windham in response to Gorham Silver: Designing Brilliance 1850-1970.
