Romance Novelist Donates 16 RI-Based Books To Local Libraries

The donations followed an inquiry by Cranston Public Librarian, Julie Holden, who became interested in Force after reading about the author in a local newspaper. Holden then helped Force reach out to other RI libraries.
“I know that it’s a tough time economically and libraries don’t have tons of money to buy new books, so I wanted my books to be available to them” Force said. “I particularly wanted the books to be accessible to fellow Rhode Islanders because so many of them are set in Rhode Island.”

Titles on offer include the Treading Water series set in Newport, the McCarthy of Gansett Island series set in a fictional version of Block Island, and four other stand-alone titles based in RI. Eighteen RI libraries have already requested the novels, along with two libraries outside of RI.

Force, herself, is an avid reader, consuming about 5 novels each week. “I read entirely romance,” she said. “I read what I write. It’s my escape, just like it is for my readers.”
