Reality (TV) check! This weekend the notoriously outspoken Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member and New York Times best-selling author, Teresa Giudice, headlined Mohegan Sun’s Reality Check event. The TV reality star signed copies of her new cookbook, Fabulicious!: Fast & Fit for all the fans that flocked to Mohegan Sun for the chance to meet her.

Giudice was just as fashionable as she is on RHONJ, dressed in a tangerine jumpsuit which she described as "MC Hammer" pants and sky-high heels. Post event she stopped by Mohegan Sun’s Diva Fridays party on the patio of Todd English's Tuscany restaurant where she was spotted sipping on a peach Fabellini. A fan staying in the hotel who was planning on attending the signing Tweeted at Teresa, explaining that she had food poisoning and was so bummed out that she wouldn't be able to meet her. In response, Teresa personalized a copy of her cookbook and had it sent to the fan's room. Talk about room service! Giudice finished off the night with dinner at Ballo Italian Restaurant & Social Club.

Meanwhile, in Newport, the queen of comedy, Joan Rivers was cutting up the crowd over the weekend. Before heading to the Newport Yachting Center for the Newport Comedy Summer Series on Saturday night, Ms. Rivers was on the beach in the Hamptons. "My body is so white, Calvin Klein tried to snort me," she Tweeted. When Rivers got to Newport, she expressed concern that the tent was too hot. For her? Nope... she was concerned for the fans. "I'm getting a check," she said backstage. "I'm worried about my audience." The audience loved her right back, giving Rivers a standing ovation at the beginning and end of her show. Folks were saying it was the best act they'd ever seen in 10 years of comedy in Newport. Get ready for three more big comedy stars to hit the cobblestones in Newport coming up… first, SNL

star Dennis Miller will be in town this Saturday, followed by fellow SNL alum Seth Myers on the 20th (the last time Myers was in RI in March, he packed them in at Brown University), Two days later, Lisa Lampanelli takes the stage.

Newport continues to simmer with celebrities this summer, as tennis royalty take up residence on Bellevue Avenue at the International Tennis Hall of Fame for the Campbell's Hall of Fame Tennis Championships. Defending champion John Isner took to the grass on Tuesday in front of a roaring crowd, and the loudest cheers went up when ESPN's Amy Lawrence mentioned that he'll be playing for Team USA in London at the 2012 Olympics. Meanwhile, Russian pro Alex Bogomolov, Jr. (nicknamed Bogie), made local points when he threw out the first pitch over the weekend at the Newport Gulls game at Cardines Field.
