Steel Yard Announces 5th Annual Fire Camp Festival

Steel Yard's Fire Camp: Festival of Fine Arts returns this summer
The Steel Yard’s Fire Camp: Festival of the Fire Arts is set to return for its fifth year this summer. 

The festival is set to take place on June 24 on the Steel Yard’s 3.8 acre campus.

Those attending the festival will see live MIG & TIG welding, plasma cutting straight through steel, wheel throwing, blacksmithing, jewelry making, and iron pouring in addition to getting their hands dirty and walking through our studio tours!

Guests will also be able to purchase customizable Iron Relief Tiles, Steel Plates or Raku Pots. 

Sand Molds will allow guests to carve out their own designs, watch as molten iron is poured into the molds and then get go take home the decorative cast iron relief. Designing the Steel Plate is similar- guests draw their design and then watch as the art is brought to life with plasma cutting & welding. 

Lastly, guests can purchase and paint with lustrous glazes their own raku fired pots.

Fire Camp also features a Yardie Garage sale where guests can purchase unique items and tools directly from the studio, as well as a Yardie Art Faire featuring ceramics, jewelry and crafts from local artists & makers.
