URI Theatre Dept. Presents "Crimes of the Heart"

Crimes of the Heart, Beth Henley's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, will be performed at the University of Rhode Island (URI) beginning February 20th.

The play, which will run from the 20th to the 22nd and then from the 27th of February to the first of March, is a dark comedy telling the story of three sisters brought together after a family tragedy. Described as a "darkly comic family feud," the production will be directed by associate professor Bryna Wortman (Much Ado About Nothing, Marvin's Room, The Sea Gull, The Prime of Miss Jane Brodie). Fellow professor Christian Wittwer serves as the lighting designer, with set design by student Steven V. Wilson and guest artists Marilyn Salvatore and Mike Hyde overseeing costumes and sound design, respectively.

The performances are set for 3pm Saturdays, and 7:30pm all other days.General admission is $20. Seniors and URI faculty/staff can get in for $15, and URI students for $12. For tickets and more information, visit web.uri.edu/theatre.
