You Won’t See Charlie Brown’s Great Pumpkin on Network TV in 2020 - It’s Streaming on Apple

The Peanuts Halloween classic It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown won't be found on network TV in 2020.

Instead, it will be streamed on Apple TV+ for free. 

"It was announced on October 19 that It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown would air exclusively on AppleTV+," reports Good Housekeeping.

"While you can sign up for a free trial of AppleTV+ to watch it before Halloween, the streaming service is offering it at no cost from Oct. 30 - Nov. 1 to all viewers," GH continues. 

Vulture took a look at Peanuts specials' role on TV over the years. 

"Peanuts specials not airing on a free, over-the-air broadcast network for the first time since the 1965 Christmas special debuted is another milestone moment in TV history," said Vulture. 

As for the Peanuts' Halloween special, it came along a year later.

"Its initial broadcast took place on October 27, 1966, on CBS, preempting My Three Sons. The original sponsors were Coca-Cola, the original sponsor of A Charlie Brown Christmas, and the Dolly Madison brand of baked snack foods, which would go on to be a longtime co-sponsor of the Peanuts specials on CBS," according to Wikipedia.
