24-Hour “Super Plunge” at Salty Brine Beach to Benefit Special Olympics Rhode Island

Starting on Saturday, March 23 at Salty Brine State Beach in Narragansett, plungers will go into the water once an hour for the next 24 hours, finishing at noon on Sunday.
“And it’s not just running in and running out — plungers are required to go all the way under,” said DeJesus.
The Unified Champion Schools Plunge will kick off the day-long event at noon on Saturday, and then Sunday at noon, the “Torch Run Plunge” will culminate the event at noon.
DeJesus spoke to how the “plungers” will have food, heating tents, and a hot tub at their disposal — but also how grueling the 24-hour challenge can be, all in the name of the goal to raise $100,000 for the organization.
