Author Kepnes Discusses Her New Book, "Providence" on LIVE

The Brown University grad has had a diverse career -- she has worked as a pop culture journalist for Entertainment Weekly and a TV writer on the show 7th Heaven.
Her newest work "Providence" is the supernatural tale that follows the story of two best friends, Jon and Chloe who are separated when one is kidnapped and kept hidden away for years. When he finally manages to escape, he discovers an unwanted power of hurting anyone he cares about.
The story follows them on their journey through New England and is filled with creepy twists and turns.
The younger characters are a new direction for Kepnes, who previously focused on a man in his mid-30's in her first two books, "You", and its sequel, "Hidden Bodies".
As a New England native, Kepnes says the region is the perfect setting for her novel.
Kepnes is already working on her next project, the first draft of which she just finished. While she did not want to give away too many details, she says it follows the story of a woman in Connecticut in search of a husband.
Always a fan of surprise twists and mysteries, Kepnes says her preferred writing style is one where she can scare herself. "Providence" contains many references to H. P. Lovecraft, one of her favorite authors.
Providence is available now wherever you buy books.
