Black Sheep's Worthington Discusses the Down City Bar on LIVE

Laura Afonso
Providence’s Black Sheep Co-Owner Oscar Worthington talks about what the downcity bar has to offer after just over a year of business. The lively, comfortable bar is located right on Westminster Street, in the heart of downtown, and offers heart warming dishes and hand crafted seasonal cocktails.

Black Sheep offers quality eats that appeal to the masses. “We downsized our menu to be more approachable and affordable. Our best selling items are recognizable and comfortable” Worthington brought along house made brisket macaroni and cheese, specialty pesto grilled cheese, and slow roasted pulled pork french fries. The bar is working on a new seasonal cocktail menu, “preparing house-made simple syrups and juices” of the coming fall.

The ambiance in the space is welcoming to all, and encourages guests to have fun. “One room has a ping pong table, giant Jenga, and even corn hole outside” which keeps guests out of their seats and the energy high.

Black Sheep knows how to have fun, so when there is an event downtown, they are a destination. “We are hosting a Halloween block party. The street will be closed off at the corner of Providence Coal Fired Pizza, and they will be involved as well”. They also rotate Sunday events like Drag Brunch and  90’s themed brunch. Teaming up with local artist Bad Taste attracts guests with Wu Tang pancakes, cereal bar, old school cartoons and throwback hip hop.
