The duo had toured Europe earlier this year — and Bruce spoke about how the pair had teamed up.
“We met a long time ago,” said Bruce. “I’m not going to tell you when, as it’s going to date me, but it was probably an AS220 show, I was doing a lot of work there, and we met through a mutual friend.”
Bruce said he knew he had to team up with DJ Shurelive — and has an amusing tale of trying to track him down.
“About six years ago, when I decided to get back into music, I knew that he was the person that I needed to find, he’s so intertwined in the Rhode Island hip-hop scene,” said Bruce. “So I went to his old house — he didn’t live there anymore, his mom didn’t know what was going on — but they linked me up with him and I went to his house, and that same day, I met up with the first person to ever record me, so it was definitely divine timing."
On Thursday, Bruce, AKA “The Waterbearer” and DJ Shurelive performed “Life You Up,” Dwayne Johnson,” and “For Life.”
