Newport Preservation Society's Carneiro Highlights the Newport Food & Wine Festival on LIVE

To the delight of Rhode Island foodies and wine lovers, the Newport Food and Wine Festival returns for its 13th year at the historic Newport Mansions. The festival kicks off September 20th with various different events happening through September 23. 

Andrea Carneiro of The Preservation Society of Newport County joined GoLocal LIVE’s Chelsea Guay to discuss this weekend's upcoming Newport Food and Wine Festival as well as the events calendar for the remainder of the year.

Hundreds of wines from around the world will be featured throughout the many weekend events, including top selections from Opus One (Napa Valley), M. Chapoutier (France), Tua Rita (Italy), Vincent Girardin (France), Robert Mondavi (Napa Valley), and Famille Hugel (France). In addition to the plentiful wine selection, many local restaurants will be in attendance, along with renowned chef's and sommeliers. 

Much of the discussion on GoLocal LIVE  - WATCH ABOVE -  was about the robust event schedule, the special guest appearance by distinguished fashion designer Zac Posen, and the overall mission of the Preservation Society of Newport County.

The Preservation Society of Newport County is a non-profit organization accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and dedicated to preserving and interpreting the area’s historic architecture, landscapes, and decorative arts.
