The Ripple Effect: Survivor of RI Drunk Driver Crash Urges Youth to “Overcome Obstacles” on LIVE

Rhode Island native Becky Bowman White appeared on GoLocal LIVE as part of the ongoing series to feature the RI DOT’s “Ripple Effect” campaign to raise awareness of impaired driving and its consequences.

White spoke to being hit by a drunk driver in 1999, when she was in the car driven by her mother with her friend Kate DeCubellis — and being the only survivor of the three. 

White also discussed how she speaks to middle and high school youth not only about making good choices, but learning from — and overcoming — mistakes.
