Want to Buy or Sell a Home This Winter in RI - Mott & Chace's Marion Offers Guidance

"People think about real estate as spring, summer, fall…that we’re all packing up our signs and putting away our boots and sitting by the fire with our family for the winter, but right now, realtors — and buyers and sellers — are so active still," said Mario. "It’s going to be a very busy winter."
"In fact, the National Association of Realtors recently said this winter of 2021 into 2022 could be our busiest winter for sales and purchases since 2006, which is amazing, because we’ve already had these couple of years of a very strong market," she added.

"The market right now is different, so what to expect if you’re thinking about listing," said Marion. "First of all I would say this is a great time of year to list, because winter shoppers are serious — no one wants to be out in the cold and potentially bad weather looking for a property. So if they are, they mean business."
"We are at a point with house pricing and house values and sales numbers that is probably topping out — so if you’re thinking well I’m going to wait ‘till spring….we’re at the point where we’ve really pushed values so high, that we’re probably not going to see another increase in the spring," said Marion.
