21 Arrested by RI State Police in Drugs and Weapons Bust
The arrests are a result of a long-term court authorized Title III Wire Intercept investigation.
The Investigation
GET THE LATEST BREAKING NEWS HERE -- SIGN UP FOR GOLOCAL FREE DAILY EBLASTAccording to the Rhode Island State Police, it is alleged that Janssye Toucet, 32, of 1775 Bicentennial Way, North Providence, Rhode Island, was involved in the transportation, possession, and use of numerous illegal firearms and organized, orchestrated, and conspired to execute the shooting of rivals, including two recent shootings in the City of Providence, as well as directing the distribution of illegal narcotics.
The first shooting occurred on May 20, 2019 at Club Seven, 114 Spruce street, Providence, when two people were shot and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The second shooting occurred on June 16, 2019 in the area of El Patio Night club on Public Street in Providence resulting in non-life-threatening injuries to one person. Multiple gunshots were fired on each of these occasions.
According to State Police, During this investigation, forty-five court authorized search warrants were executed on vehicles, residences and electronic devices which resulted in the seizure of four (4) firearms, thirteen vehicles, $48,315 in U.S. currency and illegal controlled substances to include cocaine, heroin, and fentanyl. A total number of eighteen thousand seven hundred and ninety four (18,794) calls and SMS messages were intercepted during the course of this investigation.
